MEMORIAS
SOME THINGS DON'T NEED EXPLAINING.
Not everything we remember was important when it happened. That’s what made it ours.
Before they were memories, they were just afternoons. Sidewalks. Noise. Games we made ourselves. Things we never thought we’d miss.
A GROWING ARCHIVE OF THE ORDINARY MOMENTS THAT STAYED WITH US.
A tapita. A thumb. A stretch of concrete. You flicked yours toward theirs and hoped for the hit—or close enough for la cuarta. Sometimes it was for points. Sometimes another cap. Sometimes a few cheles. Mostly, it was just about staying outside a little longer.
Wood. Nails. A couple of old bearings. Somehow that was enough. You built it with whatever you could find, found the longest hill on the block and let gravity do the rest. Before you saw it coming, you heard it: metal bearings roaring against the pavement.
